Royal town of Ostrovica

The remnents of the Royal town of Ostrovica are located on one of the hills near the small town of Kulen Vakuf.
The first written record of Ostrovica appeared in 1407 in the certificate issued by the Hungarian-Croatian King Ladislas to the Duke Sandalj in which the King acknowledges Sandalj's ownership of the town.

Like many other historical sites in the area, Ostrovica also testifies to the extremely turbulent history of this region. Due to its important strategic position, size and almost inaccessibility, this fortifications was a safe haven for Bosnian kings too.
Conquered by many, sold by some, today after a long period of neglect is being slowly restored.
This is a story worth hearing, and the site worth experiencing, so we propose hiring a guide and a lovely guided tour.
