Pilgrimage to Krasno via Otočac, Aero Club Otočac

Rediscover the old way of travelling to a holy place - on foot to the Shrine of Our Lady of Krasno via the lovely little town of Otočac and the Otočac Aeroclub!!

Flying sports in Otočac have a long tradition of over fifty years, they began in 1972, and today this tradition is carefully nurtured by the members of the Otočac Aero Club. They are responsible for the local airport on Špilnik, which stands out in the world for one of the longest grass runways, 1600 meters, which is also excellently drained. They are proud members of the select team of small airports in Croatia - FLY Croatia and offer numerous activities with a focus on sports aviation and working with young people. In addition to the teaching and training program, they also offer experiences for guests: panoramic flights and, in cooperation with other clubs, tandem skydiving experiences.

Otočac lives on the Gacka River, at the foot of the Velebit mountain, and this combination is reflected in the great gastronomic offer, homemade delicacies, and there is also a healthy honey trail to explore.

But first, an important recommendation. When it comes to Velebit and Lika, slightly different rules apply - this is a mountainous area where forces of nature can be quite deceptive.
