Edu Trail Ostri Medvjedak - the magic of beech
NOTICE: If you are lucky and live in a country that is slowly coming out of quarantine recover your strength in the arms of Nature; power up your immunity with outdoor recreation and healthy domestic, locally grown foods. Let's help preserve local jobs - buy domestic, local produce and support your local food producers. Start protecting natural resources like never before - water, fertile land, forests, seas, rivers and all other natural resources necessary for our life and survival!
If you are still required to be under quarantine - don't give up, keep your spirit strong despite the measures, and when conditions become right we will be awaiting you with numerous recuperative activities!
Plitvice Lakes National Park has secured several educational trails to present the impressive biodiversity of this protected area.
The view of the blue-green lakes is a real pleasure in autumn and winter, most deciduous trees release their leaves to prepare for a recuperative break, allowing us to have a clear view of the beautiful lakes, so take a stroll along the educational trail "Ostri Medvjedak". The trail can be accessed from the Entrance 1. After you purchase the ticket, cross the road and walk to the restaurant "Licka kuca" where the trail begins.
A special feature of this site is a valuable beech wood ecosystem, which requires a special protection. Hike to the peaks of Mount Medvjedak, learn something new and enjoy the scenery!
By visiting national parks in the off-peak season we can help in necessary protection of natural heritage that is now seriously threatened by a large number of visitors during two summer months.
Enjoy the serenity of nature, discounts, cheaper tickets, and fewer crowds!
Thank you for your cooperation and care!
