41st Plitvice Marathon 2026!

The Athletic club Maksimir from Zagreb in cooperation with the National Park Plitvice Lakes organized the first "Plitvice marathon" in 1985! The race has gained popularity from the start, each year a great many people come to watch the runners making the event not just a marathon, but also a lovely social event. In 2017, the Plitvice Athletics Club was founded with a mission to promote athletics and a healthy lifestyle in their local community. The AC team also took over the organization of the "Plitvice Marathon", and have done it with great enthusiasm and dedication for several years. fFrom 2025, the organization was taken over by the private company The Great Refresh.
